"I've loved cars since I was a little girl and I love driving FAST! My Dad took my little brother and I to see drag races and NASCAR races in the 80s and 90s all the time. I never thought that I, a woman, would ever get the chance to race a car until I discovered SCCA RallyCross, Spring of 2015 after I bought my first Subaru WRX. I would have never sought out SCCA RallyCross if it wasn't for watching the Subaru Rally Team USA compete in the North America Rally Series. After buying my first Subaru WRX, I wanted to know everything about rally and rallycross. I took my first racing course lesson January of 2015 and after that, I was hooked.
I won my rookie racing season in the 2015 Central Florida Region SCCA RallyCross sanctioned racing events in my 2014 Subaru WRX (my daily driver at the time). Then the following year I switched to a rear wheel drive car which I still continue to race (1990 Miata). I went from learning how to drive an all-wheel-drive, turbocharged car to a rear-wheel-drive naturally aspirated engine car in a few months. Both types of cars have their own different challenges in rallycross. I learned how each car responds differently with each driving maneuver through technical rallycross courses on loose dirt + gravel terrain while keeping a clean and fast race line through the course without missing gates or hitting cones...well maybe I hit a few cones. My 2nd rallycross season I won 3rd place in stock RWD (2016 season). This past year's 2017 season I took home 1st place in stock RWD for the season championship in the Central Florida Region SCCA Rallycross division. I am looking forward to the 2018 racing schedule and planning on competing in the sanctioned events at Sebring International Raceway, Daytona International Speedway and the Saint Lucie County Fairgrounds.
I started Rally Girl Racing to help promote women racers and inspire more women to try out rallycross in my local SCCA region. Since my first racing season in 2015, I have helped quadruple the number of women participants/drivers in the Central Florida Region SCCA RallyCross sanctioned racing events. I hope to continue to inspire more women to learn how to rally cross and learn how to drive stick!"
FUN FACT: I've never owned an automatic transmission car. I learned how to drive a stick shift (manual transmission) when I was 15 years old. The first car I drove for 13 years was a manual Hyundai Accent.

What is RallyCross? It's the most widespread and readily accessible form of extreme dirt motorsport in the Sports Car Club of America, and the perfect place to see if you have what it takes to powerslide your way to victory. Imagine a scaled down version of a rally stage laid out on a non-paved plot of land where the course is laid out with traffic cones. The entry fee and equipment requirements are considerably less than those necessary to enter any other form of performance rally. You will need to arrive at event registration with a sound, hardtop vehicle, drivers license, and the entry fee. We have helmets to loan and will assist the first time competitor with entering the appropriate class, making your way through tech inspection and finding your way around the course. Best of all, it's fun!
